60 anglers turned out for this latest qualifier.
Conditions today presented a big weather change with highs of just 12C all day, heavy overnight rain with dull skies all day and a heavy breeze.
Fish on the Match Lake were quickly down the edges but very difficult to catch and the carp on the Specimen Lake, which were swimming shallow, were also difficult to catch.
Winner today, and progressing the September Grand final was Herefords Neil Colcombe, who drew peg 1 on the Specimen Chalet road bank.
Neil fished most of his match down the edges with maggots over ground bait, landing some specimen carp that tipped the scales at 267-3-0 and was 65lbs clear of his nearest rival.
Second place went to Warren Jennings from peg 8 on the Specimen Burr.
Warren fished the pellet waggler all day, landing some quality carp on banded pellet to weigh in 201-6-0.
Warren has already qualified for a Semi-Final placing, so this now passes to 3rd placing.
In third place, and qualifying for the Semi-Finals, was Preston’s Adam, Rumble with 142-10-0 from peg 29 on the Specimen Chalet Bank.
Adam fished at 16m with pole & pellet shallow, landing carp to 29lbs!!
Adam is rewarded with a Semi Final placing.
Fourth to the frame was Steve Openshaw (Lindemere) who drew peg 30 on the Match Lake.
Steve fished the duration of the match down his edge, fishing dead reds over ground bait to weigh in 136-5-0 of carp and F1’s. Steve also qualifies for the September Semi Final.
Fifth overall was Alex Murry (Mossella) with 122-14-0 on meat down his edges.
Alex weighed in carp and F1’s from peg No18 on the Match burr.
