The superb Weston Pools at Oswestry hosted 67 anglers for qualifier No 17.
Conditions today were pretty good. Just a few early showers, but followed with a gentle breeze, sunshine with highs of around 21C.
Winner today and progressing to the September 12th Grand Final was Chris Weeder Jnr (RW Floats / Preston NW) who qualifier for his second Golden Reel Qualifier with 199-2-0 of big F1’s and carp from peg 25 on the Belvedere Lake.
Chris fished caster shallow to the lily pads and later pellet short to secure his victory.
Second on the day was Rob Swan (Gruru Dynamite) from peg 25 on the Stretton Lake.
Rob fished a combination of methods, fishing the method feeder with pellet, short on the pole and later down his edges landing a superb 166-9-0 of carp and F1’s.
Rob secures a semi final placing at Larford on Wednesday 9th September and a great chance to qualify for the £50k Grand Final.
Third placed Colin Wozek qualifies for the September Semi Final with 154-14-0 of carp and F1’s.
The Oakengaves Angling sponsored angler chose to fish caster shallow and later short and down his edges.
Fourth to the frame was Matt Dawes from peg 26 on the Clay Pit Lake.
Matt landed quality carp to the pellet to finish the day with 149-6-0.
Fifth overall was Connor Barlow (Guru) from peg 24 on the Clay Pit Lake.
Fishing shallow and down his edges with caster, Connor bagged 146-5-0.
Sixth place Mike Gallimore (Drennan NW) drew peg 19 on the Canal Pool weighing in 141-13-0 to caster fished shallow
The complex fished fantastic with 21 weights over 100lbs which is a credit to Mike and all the Weston Pools staff for hosting a superb qualifier.
