Winner today with a massive 221-0-0 was Lee Thorton (Middy) from peg 3 on Meadow Lake.
The burning heat resulted in most of the resident carp swimming shallow and that meant Lee had to resort to mugging tactics, fishing shallow on pellet.
Later catching a few down his edges and booking his September Grand Final placing.
Second to the frame was local rod Paul Cook who drew peg 18 on High Meadows.
Paul fished pellet shallow all day, landing 143-12-0 and a place in the Semi Finals.
Third placed Carl Brooks was again unlucky not to qualify, Carl is already in the Semi Finals, so today’s spot passes to 4th place.
Carl drew peg 33 on Meadow, landing 142-4-0 of carp all caught shallow on pellet.
Fourth overall was Chris Hill (Mossella) from peg 11 on Meadow.
Chris fished down his edges on pellet weighing in 128-14-0 and securing a place in the Semi Finals.
