Golden Reel Qualifier No1 Meadowlands Fishery, Saturday 2nd April 2022

Conditions more like early January greeted the contestants for the first qualifier of 2022.
Temperatures of minus 3C and only reaching a maximum of 8C by the end of the five hour qualifier.
On top of that, the field had to face rain, snow and hail coupled with a very strong north wind.

Winner today was Jordan Holloway (Preston) who drew peg 6 on the Warren Lake
Jordan fished corn down his edges from the off only having one big carp bagged up to the last hour.
Bites then came into play down his edge with eleven carp, between 11-12lbs and a total weight of 121-4-0 rewarding Jordan with a September 10^th Grand Final placing.

Second on the day was Warren Jennings, who has Just qualified for the Fish ‘O’ Mania Final.
Warren drew peg 15 on Warren, which was an inform peg.
Falling short by just one fish, Warren weighed in 111-0-0 but rewarded with a Semi Final placing.
All Warrens fish were caught tight down his edge on corn.

Third to the frame and also qualifying for the Semi Final was Ryan Bennett with 91-10-0 from peg 89 on Lambsdown.
Ryan Fished hard pellet tight down his edge.

Fourth overall was Mark Hawthorne from peg 5 on Lambsdown with 85-14-0.
Mark fished corn down his edges tight to the next stage.

Fifth placed Grant Merritt drew peg 46 on Lambsdown, weighing in 81-9-0 of carp all caught tight down his edges and corn hook baits.
