A near sell out of 92 anglers turned out hoping to grab a qualification placing and a chance to bag a massive £50K.
Winner today from peg 37 on the Partridge Lake was Ryan Bennett with a massive 191-11-0 of carp.
Ryan fished the long pole all day fishing pellet shallow and slapping with a few fish also down his edge.
This is Ryan’s second attendance at the Grand Final in September.
Second overall and securing a place in the semi-final was Andy Bennett (Guru/ Blakes Baits) who drew peg 35 on Kestrel.
Andy caught stockies from the off and after an hour had bagged around 60lbs. Then a slow period until the last hour, catching shallow on pellet and some good carp down his edge to finish the day with 135-14-0.
Third to the frame and also securing a semi final placing was Ryan Laycock with 118-6-0 from peg 19 on the Kestrel Lake.
Ryan caught all his fish tight down the edges on 6mm pellet.
Fourth in the match was Anthony Alderson from peg 25 on Kestrel with 98-14-0 all caught on pellet shallow.
Fifth overall was Danny Bennett (Shimano) from peg 21 on the Kestrel Lake.
Danny bagged all his carp on the pole long fishing shallow with 6mm pellets.
