Golden Reel Qualifier No22, Decoy Lakes, Saturday 6th August 2022

A respectable turnout for this latest qualifier. Conditions being a pleasant 24C with very little breeze, sunny with clear skies all day.

Winner today and heading into the September Grand Final was Mike McMillan (Garbolino) from peg 24 on the Oak Lake
Mike fished pretty well all day fishing shallow with pellet having to be patient with the carp swimming shallow. Later finding half a dozen big carp down his edges to win the match with an impressive 275-10-0.

Second placed Simon Skelton makes the all important Semi Final with 229-11-0 from peg 9 on Oak.
Simon also fished shallow and later finding a few down his edges on pellet. His main attack however was method feeder.

Third placed Edward McAleer drew peg 28 on Oak landing 202-0-0 catching his fish on a top 2 plus 1 down his left margin with corn over micro pellets.
Ed also qualifies for the Semi Finals.

Sorry the report is a little brief, but I was away at my daughter’s wedding.
