Match & Specimen Lakes.
A high pressure made for a difficult match with fish swimming shallow and massive groups of fish feeding down the edges, but very difficult to catch. There was highs of around 24-25C with no breeze.
Winner today and making his first ever Golden Reel Final was Jason Davies from peg 22 on the Match Lake.
Jason too full advantage of an end peg draw to the burr bank and from the whistle had loads of carp feeding down both edges.
Jason fed micros, catching on corn, pellet and dead reds, putting together a match winning 216-12-0.
Second overall and into the semi final was Ash Davies. Ash is no relation to the winner who fished a near faultless match.
Drawing peg 4 on the match grass bank, Ash bagged 192-7-0 of quality carp all caught over micro pellet with meat hook baits.
Third was Phil Royds from peg 3 on the match grass bank.
Phil fed micros heavily down his edges and fish worm over the top weighing in 170-10-0 and a place in the semi final.
4th to frame was Andy Christie from peg 13 on the Match Burr with 166-15-0 all caught shallow and down his edge with dead reds.
Considering the conditions, there was still 14 weights over 100lbs including a match winning 216lbs.
