Once again Larford Lakes was battered with a strong easterly wind. Temperatures also fell to just 10C with bright skies all day.
All that being said, some excellent weights were recorded off both the Match & Specimen Lakes.
Winner overall and making it through to his second Golden Reel Grand Final was Pete (The Meat) Upperton.
Pete (Guru/Mainline) drew peg 15 on the Match Lake and on setting up, it was evident that his edges were holding a good head of F1’s and carp.
Pete fished a simple match by fishing short and down his edges with meat hook baits, landing an impressive 174-4-0, 10lb clear of his nearest rival.
2nd overall was Neil McKinnon (Preston / Sonu) from peg 1 on the Match Lake.
Neil fished the pole short and down his edges with pellets landing 164-10-0 and a well earned place in the Semi- Finals.
3rd placed Ian Benthan (Leigh Tackle & Bait) drew peg 1 on the Specimen Lake and fished the method feeder at distance with waffter hook baits weighing in 107-8-0 of carp and bream. Ian also books his Semi-Final placing.
4th to the frame was Steve Williams from peg 30 on the Specimen Lake.
Steve caught on the method feeder and waffters down his edge, weighing in 98-9-0 of big carp and bream.
5th placed Kioran Rich (Middy / Burt Baits) drew peg 11 on the Specimen Lake and fished the method short with waffters landing 88-6-0 of carp and bream.
