Golden Rod Feeder Barston Lakes Saturday 23rd February 2019

A full 60 peg sell out again for the last but one of the Golden Rod Feeder Qualifiers. Conditions for the match looked favourable with just a gentle breeze and highs of around 14C.That being said, Barston is a shallow lake and water temperatures were still very cold. The resident carp refused to feed and the bream were also difficult to catch.

Winner on the day was Stephen Taylor from peg 16. Steve fished a cage feeder finding some decent skimmers to weigh in 28-15-00 to dead reds and worm.

Second on the day was Kevin Hall from peg 14. Kevin fished the cage with dead reds landing 28-05-00 just 10Oz  short of the overall winner.

Third placed Peter Black (Garbolino) drew peg 22 and also fished the cage with dead reds landing 21-08-00 of bream and skimmers.

Fourth in the frame was last years finalist Rob Upex who drew peg 109. Rob caught on the method and open end feeder fishing dead reds and worms landing 18-02-00 and a place in the March Final.

Fifth place John Aldridge also booked his first Golden Rod finalist placing drawing peg 54.
