Conditions today were good with highs of around 21C, a gentle SW breeze with clear skies and sunshine all day. Clearly carp could be seen everywhere swimming shallow in numbers, so the plan of attack in general was fish shallow. Winner today and progressing to his first Golden Reel Final was Barry Byrd who drew fancied peg 124. 124 had not produced a winning weight for some time, but was bang on form for this important qualifier. Lakes – Match & Specimen Conditions for this latest qualifier was near perfect with bright skies and highs of 22C. A good breeze on both lakes and fish swimming shallow with carp and F1’s down all the margins. Tactics today were clearly pole shallow and pellet waggler. Winner today and progressing to a second Golden Reel Final was Dave Roberts who drew peg 1 on the Specimen burr bank. 82 anglers turned out for qualifier No7 at the Mighty Glebe Fishery. Conditions again were favourable with clear skies, a warm 18C and gentle breeze. Winner today was Zac Worby-Smith from peg 98 on Pool 7. Zac caught all his carp shallow with pellet and later down his edges again with pellet weighing in 189-8-0. Conditions today were favourable with clear sky’s and highs of around 18C and a gentle breeze. Needless to say, there was lots of carp swimming shallow but not easy to catch. Winner today and progressing to the September Grand Final was Matt Dawes (Preston) who drew peg 30 on Meadows. Matt made the most of his end peg draw by fishing shallow with pellet and later down his edges again with pellet hook baits, weighing in a brilliant 293-10-0 of quality carp. A warm day for this latest qualifier with clear skies, little or no breeze and highs of around 17C. Fish could be seen everywhere swimming shallow so overall, that was clearly the main plan of attack. Winner today and progressing to yet another Golden Reel Final was Preston’s Andy Power who drew peg 112 on pool 8. Once again Larford Lakes was battered with a strong easterly wind. Temperatures also fell to just 10C with bright skies all day. All that being said, some excellent weights were recorded off both the Match & Specimen Lakes. Winner overall and making it through to his second Golden Reel Grand Final was Pete (The Meat) Upperton. Decent conditions greeted the field today with bright sky’s, highs of around 15C and a pleasant breeze. Winner today and making his way through to the September Grand Final was Dale Shepherd. Very cold conditions for this latest qualifier. A hard early morning frost registering just -3C, followed by clear sky's and temperatures rising to just 8C at best. Conditions more like early January greeted the contestants for the first qualifier of 2022. Temperatures of minus 3C and only reaching a maximum of 8C by the end of the five hour qualifier. On top of that, the field had to face rain, snow and hail coupled with a very strong north wind.
