A sell out entry for the second Golden Reel Qualifier. Conditions today were fine, with bright sunshine and highs of around 14C.
Winner today and making his way to the September Grand Final was Carl Barnfield.
Carl fished a near faultless match drawing peg 59. This was an area not tipped to win but there was fish showing ever where.
Carl fished the method short with pellet and waffter hook bait landing 141-10-00 of carp, bream and F1’s.
Second placed Geoff Wilde drew peg 124 which was a fancied area.
Geoff fished the method at distance with waffter hook baits, weighing in 112-00-00 of carp and F1’s.
Third to the frame was Rob Bogdanski from peg 60. Rob fished the method feeder at 30m with ant bait pellets and waffters.
Most of Rob’s fish came in the last two hours of the match landing 105-00-00 of carp and F1’s.
Fourth overall was Ben Lockwood from peg 51. Ben fished the method at 30m with waffter hook baits weighing in 96-10-00. Ben constantly pinging pellets to catch late in the match.
Fifth placed Allan Smith drew peg 58 and fished the method long with pellets and waffters landing bream carp and f1’s for a total weight of 90-10-00.
Sixth to the frame was Andy Kinder with 90-09-00. Andy had a very slow start fishing long on the method.
Feeding his shorter line with pellet, he found carp feeding over his short line late in the match to weigh in a fine bag of carp and F1’s from peg18.
