A breezy overcast day with highs of around 18-20C. A near sell out of 90 anglers all hoping to grad a grand final place in September.
Winner overall, and progressing to the September 12th Grand Final was Matt Wiles who put in a faultless performance landing 290-2-0 from Willows peg 29.
Matt mugged most of his carp on hard pellets and later switched to his edges with hard pellet over micro’s.
Second on the day and qualifying for the September 9th semi final was Wayne Shepherd from peg 2 on the Beastie Lake.
Wayne caught on the feeder and down his edge on corn over micro’s to weigh in 243-0-0.
Third to the frame was Jamie Thompson from peg 28 on the Oak Lake with 208-6-0.
Jamie fished dead reds over micro pellet landing quality carp to 15lbs securing his semi final placing.
Fourth overall was Jamie Hughes (Matrix) who drew peg 13 on the Horseshoe lake.
Jamie caught shallow and down his edge with pellet weighing in 198-14-0.
Fifth placed Ryan Laycock (pole floats 4 u) drew peg 30 on the oak Lake fishing dead reds over micro pellet down his edges, Ryan weighed in 176-11-0.
Sixth to the frame was Chris Barley (Dynamite) with 161-15-0 from peg 7 on Beastie Chris caught most of his fish on pellet short and down his margins.
A great match and a big thank you to Decoy Lakes for hosting a brilliant qualifier. For the record, there were 18 weights over 100lbs and three weights over 200lbs.
