Another good turn out for this latest qualifier with 83 anglers booked on.
Conditions were better with warm sunshine, a gentle breeze and highs of around 24C.
Winner today and progressing to his first Golden Reel Grand final was Lee Riley (Bait Tec) from peg 50 on Covey 3.
Lee was into carp and F1’s from the word go, fishing shallow with pellet and caster and later down his edges landing a superb 235-0-0.
Second on the day was Jamie Hughes (Matrix) from peg 133 on Covey 6.
Jamies approach was shallow with pellet rewarding him with a fine bag of carp and F1’s, weighing in at 167-13-0.
Third to the frame was Garry Ainscough from peg 158 on Covey 6.
Garry fished pole and pellet shallow and to depth weighing in 161-6-0 and qualifying for a semifinal place on September 9th and a big shot at making the Grand final.
Fourth overall was John Jones from peg 153 on Covey 6.
John netted carp and F1’s on pellet shallow weighing in 157-10-0 and a qualification placing in the September Semi Final at Larford.
Fifth in the frame was Barry Bush from peg 151 on Covey 6.
Barry landed 151-2-0 to pole and pellet shallow with some late fish down his edges.
Sixth overall was Matt Goodall with 137-5-0 from peg 137 on Covey 6.
The complex fished well with 13 weights over 100lbs, plus the winning weight of 235lbs.
