Golden Reel Qualifier No13 Decoy Lakes Saturday 18th June 2022

A wet and very cool day with quite strong winds greeted the field today for this latest qualifier.
A drop in temperature from 32C to 18C was never going to make for big weights.
That being said, some very good weights were recorded with 10 weights or more breaking the 100lbs mark.

Winner today and progressing to the September Grand Final was Sam Brown (Maver) who recorded a superb 221-8-0 from peg 4 on Elm.
Sam had the wind blowing down to his corner and chose to fish maggot down his edges over pellet, landing some big carp and F1’s.
Sam qualifies for his second Golden Reel Final.

In second place was Jon Arthur (Matrix) who drew peg 30 on the Beastie Lake.
John qualifies for the Semi Finals with a weight of 198-7-0 which he caught fishing shallow and down his edges on pellet.

Third placed Lee Thornton (Middy) drew peg 16 on Horseshoe and fished caster shallow and later with corn down his edges weighing in 182-3-0 and a place in the Semi Finals

Fourth to the frame was Martin Freeman (Tackle & Baits), who drew peg 18 on Horseshoe.
Martin weighed in 157-10-0 to caster shallow.

Fifth overall was Simon Skelton (Dynamite) from peg 6 on the Elm Lake.
Simon fished maggot over pellets, weighing in 156-4-0.
