Golden Reel Qualifier No3 Lindholme Lakes, Saturday 15th April 2023

Lakes – Willow, Laurels, Strip, Loco & Beeches

Qualifier No3 at the superb Lindhome lakes, conditions were good with only a gentle breeze, mainly clear skies and highs of around 14C.

Winner today was on form Ian Giddins (Garbolino) who only last week qualified from Lindholme for the Fish O Mania final.
Remarkably, Ian drew the same lake that he drew last week, pulling out peg 34 in the corner with the breeze in his face.
Fishing a jigger and caster shallow, Ian caught steady all day, landing quality F1’s and carp for an impressive 248-9-0 and booking his place in the September Grand Final.
So he is in 2 major final that potentially could net him a remarkable and life changing £100K.

Second overall and booking a Semi Final placing was Pat Cooper (Shimano) who drew peg 36 on Loco.
Pat fished caster shallow all day, landing F1’s and carp that scaled in at 189-11-0.

Third placed Leon Hardwick drew peg 47 on Loco and fished maggot shallow and to depth. Later fishing down his edges over micro pellet to finish the day with 156-10-0 and a Semi Final placing.

Fourth in the frame was Ryan Laycock (Frenzee) who drew peg 23 on Laurels.
Ryan fished caster shallow all day, weighing in 125-0-0.

Fifth overall was Brad Lucas from Loco peg 25.
Brad fished caster shallow weighing in 122-5-0.
