82 anglers turned out for qualifier No7 at the Mighty Glebe Fishery.
Conditions again were favourable with clear skies, a warm 18C and gentle breeze.
Winner today was Zac Worby-Smith from peg 98 on Pool 7.
Zac caught all his carp shallow with pellet and later down his edges again with pellet weighing in 189-8-0.
Only last week Zac qualified for the Match This final and now has a shot at the Golden Reel title too.
At just 20 years of age, this young gun is certainly looking to be one of the biggest names in match fishing and is well worthy of a sponsorship for certain.
Second on the day was Ben Towsend who fell just 4 1/2lbs short of a place in the final. One more carp would have clinched a final placing.
Ben fished pellet to depth and down his edges landing 185-0-0 of carp from peg 87 on pool 6.
All that being said, Ben qualifies for the Semi’s in September.
Third overall was Marc Rodger from 79 on Pool 5.
Marc fished the long pole shallow with pellets and latter down his edges to weigh in 179-0-0.
Marc qualifies for the September Semi Finals.
Fourth to the frame was Mark Griffiths (Guru) from peg 100 on Lake 7.
Mark fished the long pole shallow and down his edge with pellet to weigh in 174-14-0.
Fifth overall was Ben Lord from peg 99 on Pool 7.
Ben caught all his fish on the pellet waggler weighing in 174-6-0.
