Conditions for the match however was difficult due to heavy spawning. Highs of around 22C with little breeze and burning sunshine.
Winner today was young Harry Campbell who should be watched as he is certainly going to be a big star of the future.
Harry drew peg 1 on covey 1 and caught the majority of his catch fishing shallow landing carp and F1’s to pellet and maggot to record a massive catch of 167-10-0 on a very difficult day.
Harry’s through to the September Grand Final and certainly one to watch out for.
Second on the day and booking his place in the semi final was Chris Weeder (jnr).
Chris drew peg 6 on covey 1 and fished shallow with maggot, landing 110-13-0 of carp and F1’s
Third to frame, and booking a semi final placing was last years Golden Reel winner Lee Riley.
Lee drew peg 50 on covey 3 weighing in 106-15-0 of carp and F1’s all caught shallow.
Fourth overall was Connor Barlow from peg 9 on Marsh.
Connor weighed in 100-1-0 of carp and F1’s, all caught shallow.
Fifth placed Lee Thornton drew peg 54 on Covey 3 weighing in 96-2-0
