Lakes – Covey 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6
71 Anglers fished
Conditions at Partridge Lakes today were difficult. Temperatures tumbled to just 6C, a heavy frost overnight coupled with a cold easterly wind plunged the fishery back into winter mode.
But as always, the brilliant Partridge Lakes still provided some great catches of F1’s coupled with a few bonus carp from down the edges.
Winner today was Dave Brown Jnr (Browing / Crow Sports) who drew peg 73 on Covey 3.
Dave opted to fish maggot down the edge for most of the Match landing 106-02-00 booking his place in the September Grand Final.
Second placed Chris Weeder Jnr (Preston N/W sonu Baits) was unlucky not to make the final two years running falling just 3lb short of the winner with 103-00-00 from peg 55 on Covey 3.
Chris fished shallow with maggot landing a fine bag of F1’s.
Third overall was Mark Tregear from peg 65 on Covey 3.
Mark caught on pellet short weighing in 100-08-00.
Fourth overall was Andy Power (Preston) from peg 70 on Covey 3.
Andy weighed in 95-10-00 of F1’s fishing maggots down the middle and fishing to depth.
Fifth placed Sam Slockett (Preston) weighed in 93-02-00 from peg 45 on Covey 2.
Sam fished pellet long, catching all his fish brushing bottom with banded hard pellets.
Sixth in the frame was Allan Battersby from peg 51 on Covey 3 with 88-13-00 of F1’s all to pellet fished tight down his edges.
Once again, a big thank you to Barbara and Neil and all the fishery staff at Partridge for hosting a superb qualifier.
