Lakes – 1-9
Another 100 peg sell out at the Glebe with all 9 lakes pegged for this popular qualifier.
Conditions were far from perfect with temperatures of just 8C at best and a very cold easterly wind.
To be fair, the conditions today were more like early january which was always going to effect the big catch weights that the Glebe is so famous for.
That being said, Dan Hull (Middy Dynamite) drew well pulling out peg 2 on Lake 1.
Dan fished the feeder tight across loading his open ender with micro pellets. Alternating between corn and maggot hook baits to land a superb 134.1.0.
Dan books his place in the final for the second year on the bounce.
Maybe 2019 is going to be his year.
Second placed Ross Harold (Matrix) drew peg 85 on Lake 5 landing 125-01-00 to pole and pellet fished long tight to his edges.
Ross bagged a superb net of carp to 10lbs.
Third overall was Jason Dunworth from peg 86 on Lake 6.
Jason caught on the open end feeder loaded with micro pellets and a banded 8mm hard pellet hook bait. Jason also caught late on the pole fished down his edge to record a weight of 117-11-00.
Fourth place was shared by Zac Brown (Preston) and Kev Gallagher with 112-07-00.
Zac fished from peg31 Lake 2, fishing down his edge with corn and expanders over thatcher’s original ground bait.
Kev drew peg 12 on Lake 1 and fished hard pellet on the pole fished at 11m.
Sixth to the frame was Steve Openshaw from peg 50 on Lake 3 with 102-10-00.
Steve fished down his edge over ground bait with maggot.
A big thankyou you Roy Marlow and his team for hosting a superb Glebe Golden Reel Qualifier.
Next qualifier, Woodlands view, Saturday 20th April.
