Again another full house of 60 anglers competing for a place in the March 2019 Grand Final.
Conditions on the day were not favourable with near flat calm conditions and highs of just 3C.
Needless to say, bites were hard to come by with the resident carp and bream reluctant to feed.
Winner on the day and progressing to the final was Paddy McMahon (Pip Pellets) who drew 124.
Paddy fished the hybrid feeder at distance with washed out waffter hook baits, landing 4 carp and a few skimmers to weigh in 28-08-00.
Second placed Nick Roberts drew peg 112 chasing the overall winner to the final whistle with a catch of 25-06-00.
Nick’s catch was made up of skimmers to 2lb, which he caught on both method and feeder tactics.
Third overall was Brian Clark (Vespe) with a weight of 21-04-00.
Brain fished the open end feeder with dead reds from peg number 60 to clinch a place in the Grand Final.
Fourth in the frame was Steve Ringer (Daiwa/ Ringer Baits) who drew peg 25.
Steve fished the hybrid feeder at distance with pale yellow waffters, landing an all bream catch of 17-10-00.
Steve progresses to his second Golden Rod Feeder final, having finished runner up in the 2018 final.
Fifth overall was Mark O’Neil from peg 23. Mark fished the method feeder at distance finding bream on both waffter and dead red hook baits weighing in 14-06-00.
Sixth overall was Mick Bull (Fenzee / Bag’em) from peg 105 with 13-10-00 of skimmers to the method feeder.
