Gold valley, Saturday 27th October
A poor turn out for the third qualifier of the Golden Rod campaign with just 33 anglers supporting this southern qualifier.
As the numbers were so low, only 2 qualifiers went through to the March 2018 Grand Final.
Winner on the day was Nick Howell (Daiwa) who drew peg 130.
Nick fished the hybrid feeder long to the rope landing 11 carp & F1’s for a total weight of 99-12-00.
Nick fished dead reds and waffters.
Second overall was Adam Lee (Bag’em) from peg 124.
Adam fished the method wrapped in ground bait and cage with micros and orange waffters across to the rope landing quality carp finishing with 62-02-00 to clinch a March grand final placing.
Third to the frame was Darren Millis from peg 101. Darren landed carp and F1’s to the method and cage feeder to dead reds and waffters.
Darren’s total weight was 58-08-00.
Fourth overall was Terry Molloy winning his section with a weight of 56-04-00 from peg 113.
Terry fished at distance with the method and cage feeder landing carp & F1’s.
Fifth to the frame was Ian White who drew peg 119 weighing in 55-02-00 all to the feeder fished at distance.
Sixth overall was Ricky Flint with 54-12-00 from peg 112.
Ricky fished the cage & method at distance.
Qualifiers :-
Nick Howell
Adam Lee
Due to the poor support from the southern match circuit, an additional 30 peg qualifier had been arranged to be fished at Larford Lakes on Saturday 29th December 2018.
One qualifier will progress to the March 2019 grand final.
This additional qualifier will hopefully restore the funds required towards the Grand Final pay out.
Apologies if your sponsor is missing and the poor level of detail in the report.
