This additional qualifier supported by 33 anglers made up for the shortfall of anglers from the previous Gold Valley qualifier.
Conditions on the day were a mild 11C, overcast with a north-westerly breeze.
The lakes were clear, as a substantial amount of rain had started to restore levels towards winter normal.
Surprisingly, the resident bream failed to show in any numbers and quality carp became the main target.
Winner today and progressing to the March Grand final was Mavers’ Dave Burley.
Dave drew peg 82 and fished a small hybrid feeder fished at around 40 yds with mini boilie hook baits.
Dave found carp on his first cast and went on to weigh 127-01-00 with fish to 20lbs.
Second on the day was Warren Jennings (Bag’em) from peg 78.
Warren fished the method feeder long with corn and waffter hook baits landing carp to 20lbs finishing the day with 90-04-00.
Third to the frame was Martin Eddis (Larford) with 85-11-00 from peg 3.
Martin fished the method long with waffters, landing quality carp.
Fourth overall was Prezmek Solski from peg 80.
Prez fished the method on both short and long lines with waffter hook baits recording an overall weight of 57-03-00.
Fifth to the frame was Neil McKinnon (Preston) who drew peg 9.
Neil fished the method long with waffters weighing 51-13-00.
Sixth overall was Pete Jones (Projen) from peg 2.
Pete fished the method long with waffters landing carp and bream for 47-04-00.
