A 60 peg sell out yet again. Conditions were good with highs of around 10C and a gentle breeze.
Water temperatures however were very low, making bites difficult from the resident bream and roach.
Overall winner today was Alan Taylor (Team Dons Wickersley) who fished the open end feeder with pinkie hook bait landing 9-04-00 of roach and skimmers.
Alan progresses to the March Grand Final.
Second overall was Dave Walker with 8-15-00 of roach and skimmers.
Dave fished the open ender, fishing maggot and pinkie hook baits.
Third on the day was Danny Wilson (Leigh Tackle and Bait) Who weighed in 6-15-00 of roach and skimmers to maggot and pinkie hook baits.
All Danny’s fish came to the open end feeder.
Fourth in the frame was Paul May with 6-11-00, made up of small skimmers and roach, all to maggot and pinkies and the open end feeder.
Fifth overall was Steve Walker with a catch of skimmers and roach to pinkie hook baits for a total weight of 6-08-00. Steve also caught on the open ender.
Although weights were low due to the cold water temperature, the match was very fair with most anglers weighing in 5-6lbs.
Apologies as we were not supplied with peg numbers covering the top 5 and the three zone winners.
Zone winners (20 peg zones)
