A field of 68 anglers faced very humid and near breathless conditions at The Glebe qualifier.
Fish were swimming around shallow and difficult to catch but despite the conditions, there were 22 weights over 100lbs and 4 weights over 200lbs recorded.
Winner today and making his way to his second Golden Reel Grand Final was Mikey Williams (Guru).
Mikey has been so close to qualifying on a number of occasions this year so his perseverance in the end paid off, rewarding him with a shot at the 50k final.
Mikey drew peg 86 on pool 6 and fished shallow at 14m with pellet. Later switching to his edge, fishing at 16m with pellet to weigh in 237-5-0 of carp.
Second overall was Jimmy Brooks (Preston / Sonu Baits) who drew peg 129 on Lake 9.
Jimmy fished maggots over micro pellet down his edges for the full duration of the match landing 230-7-0.
