Lakes – Cambell, Kary, Lodge, Match and middle.
A total of 78 anglers travelled to the popular Viaduct fishery in Somerset to hopefully clinch a place in the 2020 Golden Reel Grand Final.
Conditions on the day were near perfect with bright sunshine, a gentle wind and highs of around 14C.
Winner today and progressing to the final was John Hannam (South Wales) who drew peg 135 on Campbell.
John new the peg well having qualified from it only days before to reach the Fish O Mania final. So John now has the chance to compete for a staggering £100k.
Fishing the pellet short on the pole produced most of his fish with some carp targeted at 13m. John caught steady all day and at the scales weighed in at 194-13-0.
Second overall was Mavers Callum Dicks who drew peg 113 also on Cambell.
Callum fished the pole long at 16m with pellet also taking a few fish on the bomb and meat hook baits. His weight of 168-6-0 places him in the semi final and an opportunity to reach the final if he fails to qualify automatically from the remaining qualifiers.
3rd overall was Pete (the meat) Upperton (Guru).
Peter was a finalist last year and certainly knows how to catch on meat hook baits.
Drawing peg 47 on the Match Lake, Peter caught alternating between the waggler and pole short down his edges with meat weighing in 137-7-0.
Pete also qualifies for the September semi-final.
4th placed Andy Crocker drew peg 112 on Campbell and close to fish the pole long with pellet and meat hook baits landing 131-4-0.
5th on the day was Robert Dumitrescu from peg 129 on Campbell.
Rob fished the bomb and pellet also finding a few carp on bomb and meat hook baits to weigh in 124-15-0.
6th overall was Rob Taylor (Guru) with 121-10-0 from Lodge 60.
Rob fished the pole long with pellet and late down his edges on meat.
