A qualifier for what can only be said as for the brave. Conditions today were awful with highs of just 3C, a gale force wind and driving icy rain.
50 anglers braved these almost impossible conditions and it was Maver / Dynamite Baits rod Simon Skelton who won the day with an impressive 141-02-00.
Simon drew peg 22 on Oak and fished a small cage feeder loaded with micro pellet and double corn hook bait to land quality carp for a comfortable win and a place in the March Grand Final.
In second place was Jon Arthur (Matrix) who drew peg 24 on the Beastie Lake.
Jon fished the Maggot feeder with dead red hook bait to land and F1 catch totalling 87-02-00
Third on the day was Marc Rodger who drew peg 18 on the Oak Lake.
Marc fished a small hybrid feeder with mini boilies landing a carp and F1 catch weighing in 71-06-00.
Fourth placed Ben Townsend drew peg 7 on the Horse Shoe Lake landing 64-03-00.
Ben cast a maggot feeder three quarters across the lake with dead reds as hook bait.
Fifth overall was Matt Pillay (MAP / Dynamite Baits) who drew peg 24 on the Elm Lake.
Matt fished a small hybrid feeder loaded with micro pellets and presented mini boilie hook baits weighing in 63-15-00.
