A turn out of just 14 anglers for this last qualifier fished on the burr bank of the Specimen Lake. Heavy overnight rain rocked the form book but weights were close in both sections making an interesting and highly competitive competition. Another poor turn out which looks like the event will be in its last year. Again, certain previous qualifiers made up the numbers fishing for pools on the day. Winner today and progressing to the final in October was Paul Stafford from peg 62. Paul fished the method, bomb & pellet to land 115-8-0. Yet another very poor turnout for the Larford Feeder Championship qualifier. The field was made up including some previous qualifiers who paid pools only and helped to make up the numbers and provided themselves with practice for the final. Specimen Lake. The burr bank of the Specimen lake hosted the 11 anglers for this latest feeder qualifier. The numbers were made up to 15 in total as certain anglers who have already qualified were allowed to fish for the pools on the day only. Yet again a very poor turn out for this big money feeder Championship qualifier. Winner today was Jason Mackey (Senior Haulage) from peg 14 on the Specimen Burr. Jason fished the method at distance with waffters landing 102-8-0 of carp and bream to qualify for the October final. 2nd overall was Paul Cook (Frenzee) from peg 18. Only a small turn out again for a series of qualifiers that pays a high return in prize money. Winner today was Scott Chipchase (Senior Haulage) who drew peg 26 on the burr bank of the Specimen Lake. Qualifier number 3 was attended by just 10 anglers and fished down the burr bank of the specimen lake. Conditions were far from ideal with highs of 34C, bright sunshine with no breeze. Needless to say, all resident carp and most of the big bream shoals were swimming shallow. So the competitors fishing feeder and lead tactics found it difficult to pin the fish to the deck. Specimen Lake Conditions today were very warm with highs of 24C with no breeze and burning sun all day. Needless to say, conditions were far from perfect for bottom fishing as most of the resident carp were swimming shallow. The opening qualifier took place today. Attendance was disappointing with just 14 anglers turning out for the opening round. Fishing was difficult with a big drop in temperatures and heavy rain for three solid days. Winner today and progressing to the October Final was Mick Bull (Frenzee / Bag'em) with 103-11-00.
