The final qualifier of the Golden Rod Feeder championships saw a full 60 angler turn out with reserves hoping to grab a last chance to qualify for the prestigious March Grand Final. The final match fished well with both the Specimen and Match Lakes producing plenty of carp, bream and F1’s. Overall winner on the day was Danny Bache (Bag’em) who drew peg 2 on the Specimen Lake. Conditions for the match looked favourable with just a gentle breeze and highs of around 14C.That being said, Barston is a shallow lake and water temperatures were still very cold. A 60 peg sell out yet again. Conditions were good with highs of around 10C and a gentle breeze. Water temperatures however were very low, making bites difficult from the resident bream and roach. A sell out qualifier at the popular Tamar Lakes gave 60 anglers the chance to qualify for the March Grand Final. Conditions were favourable with temperatures of around 10C with little or no breeze. That being said, water temperatures were very low and the roach and bream shoals were reluctant to feed. It was always going to be difficult putting a weight together with such a drop in seasonal temperatures and needless to say the conditions did effect the weights.
